Bronn, Geneve, tandem-winding minute repeater with alarm, 56mm, massive 18K gold original HC with five knuckle hinges, gold cuvette pierced for sound transmission and bearing retailer marking "Henri Baudoüin, 8. Rue Royale, Paris," white enamel SS dial, SW-pin-set, alarm function set via shifting lever on bezel at 4:30 which will move alarm hand counterclockwise by one hour per full engagement of lever, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled repeat train, jeweled alarm mechanism, presumably in excess of 35J, alarm bell secured by screw above gilt mvt, s#32267 within case. Comes with a fitted F. Bronn wooden box with interior marking specifying "Successeur De J. Darier" which is consistent with mvt signature, mother of pearl inlay to upper lid. Gross weight of assembled watch 115.6 dwt (179.7 g). The style of tandem-winding system and overall superb quality of execution suggest Louis Audemars as a very possible likely supplier of the ebauche for this watch. Mvt: GRO but with visible oil excess and dirtiness to mvt surfaces, inconsistent repeat function overall with quarter-hour strikes always omitted entirely but frequent correct strikings of hour and minute, good repeat to hour and minute strikes, good alarm function and tone, overhaul needed, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, few small fine and micro-fine scratches to mvt, bell with few fine scratches from center with one extending over halfway to edge; dial with some light hls around 4 and 5, light hl bordering right side of seconds-register, minuscule flake to upper left perimeter of seconds-register and few minuscule flakes bordering upper right of seconds-register; fair to fine hands, hour and minute are mismatched, minute and seconds-hand with oxide; case front lift spring not making contact with lid when fully opened allowing lid to tilt back limply approximately half way, case shows hardly any wear, no dents or dings, minuscule pinpoint nick to upper front; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
